You built it, but can you grow it?
Anna Kavelj, Aideen Hopkins, Brian Kelly, Johanna Lennartson, Damian Aebischer The impact of COVID-19 is being felt by all businesses no matter what their size. Business Owners and leaders are dealing with many issues including keeping employees and clients safe, adapting their operations and ensuring cash and liquidity in the business. The pandemic will have forced many businesses to reset and perhaps prompted business owners to re-evaluate their short and long term business plans from spending less time working and more time with family to putting an exit strategy in place or looking at future acquisitions to grow the business. If they are ‘their business’ and involved in every single decision, they could be in danger of developing founders’ fatigue, which can impact negatively on the business. So the time has come to revive not only themselves but their business as well by being able to step back and relinquish control and decision making to others so that they can devote their time to deep thinking and planning what to do next. However, this is easier said than done. Our panel will discuss these challenges based on their own personal experiences, share lessons they’ve learned along the way and provide key takeaways for the audience who can then thrive both personally and professionally

Bursting Bubbles & Building Bridges - Radical Collaboration
Sophie Rehberg, Rene Stegmann, Anna Kavelj, Ebru Demirel, Daniel Danko, Jo Layton, Kathy Momberger In a world confronted by multiple global challenges, organisations are being pressured to demonstrate how they will generate value beyond profit and reduce their externalities. For meaningful change you need to step outside your bubble and get radical. But how? As businesses we are all now working towards ensuring we commit to positive social and environmental impact and recognise that this should extend well beyond the four walls of each of our businesses. We are moving from a system of supply chains to value webs and cycles – how can we do this in our industry? We need to aim for a regenerative business so that we can connect better to the world we thrive in and therefore seek collaborative relationships with our partners, customers, and communities. By engaging partners from a place of wholeness, we move beyond the exploitative mindset that late capitalism encouraged, towards an economy based on healthy relationships that link up and lift up. Our ultimate objective is to leave no one behind and to embed human rights and equity into procurement.
